Supported hardware

Actual room capture requires a compatible LiDAR-capable iPhone or iPad. Without supported hardware, the app can show information and stored data, but it cannot start a real RoomPlan scan.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't a scan start on my device?

RoomPlan needs compatible LiDAR hardware and camera permission.

Where are my projects stored?

RoomTrace stores project data locally on the device. A dedicated cloud account is not required for the core flow.

Which exports are planned?

Depending on the stored project data, export paths for PDF, JSON, DXF, and USDZ are available through the iOS Share Sheet.

Is my location always used?

Location is only needed if you choose the current position to prefill a building address.

How can I remove local data?

The app settings include a flow for removing local project, library, and preview data.
